For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 117 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2009 Posts: 117 | hello everyone, im new to the forum my truck is a 1966 Chevrolet C/60 wrecker Powered by a target master 366 cid big block. Mader was born as a dealer towtruck for the local chevrolet dealership, after they closed the doors she was baught and abused to the point of sadness. To my openion it was crazy to treat a local icon this way. when the time came to buy her i jumped at it, Still in service and working hard everyday "mader" (as the local kids call her) is my first wrecker. The funny thing is when i was a little kid i always seen this truck in town and wanted to drive it and is the reason im in this buisness today. although she wasent quite as i remembered her (time wasent kind and neather was the former owner) when shes not on the road working shes in the shop gettin something new added to her or getting something put back on her she was missing. The kids big and. small still turn their heads when mader comes rumbling by. I enjoy when i see kids buy the road jumping up and down wanting me to blow the airhorn, and i do it gladly. More times the not ive had oldtimers walk up to me and tell me the story of how they remember this truck as one of the first here in the tow buisness then they proced to tell me the night they broke down and how this was the truck that came to the rescue. Slowley but surley this local icon is comming back better than ever and i get to have the honor of saying shes all mine !

You just keep at it! Isn't it the strangest thing that a truck from our childhood can create a path for the rest of our lives. First off I want to say it looks like your giving it some TLC that may have been long over due. Way to go!! Its looking good and keep the pictures coming. We have a couple other guys here on the bolt that "specialize" in tow trucks. You'll see them around the garage.
Say, just how far down in Georgia are you?? The Southern Stovebolt Reunion is on the 30th at Westgate Mall here in Spartanburg which is just off where I-85 and I-26 cross each other. Think you can make it. 4pm-8:30pm. See pics of last years get together in the Grassy Knoll area of the forum home.
