I put a new fuel tank in my 53 about a year and a half ago. I have developed a leak around the brass tube coming out of the bottom. (where the tube runs through the tank) Any suggestions on how to fix,(jb weld)?? or has anyone else had a problem with a newer tank like this one?

look for a product called"Seal-All" it comes in a tube,like model cement.I've had success with it

On my original tank in the COE, the fittings were soldered. I broke one loose and ended up bringing it to a friend of mine who cleaned it right up and resoldered it perfectly. Hasnt leaked since.

Ive had JB weld soften and leak when exposed to gasoline for a marked amount of time. That doesnt mean it wont work, just that it may be a short term fix.

Don't mess around with gas tank leaks!
Get the thing repaired properly.

I used jb weld on my tractor to stop a leak at the shut off valve. No leaks in 2 years. I did buy a new valve but it was chinese junk, leaked worse, and wasn't machined. Eventually I'll do it right, but I just watch it for now.
