I had an odd thought today, or maybe I have to much time on my hands... When did Chevrolet start using the bowtie emblem? Ive seen it in a stock '61 truck, but cant recall seeing it on any earlier years.

The Bowtie was first used on Chevrolet vehicles in 1913.

Remember those two guys named Jim who came out to look at '40 parts? The older one has a blue '35 pickup with a bow tie on the front.

Thanks for the input. I cant recall ever seeing it in my stacks of manuals or on/in the trucks parked around my yard. All of which are in the 1940s to late 50s range. With the exception of the new trucks, which are both '72s grin

Rusty, get those rusty old eyes checked. Go out to the yard and look at the hood of any of those AD trucks. Every one of them should have the bow tie symbol (in blue) on the front chrome piece, centered over the word 'Chevrolet.'

big_eek

You can see it on the front of my '48 Bowtie Emblen on an AD
