(Sort of like the 55 1st series was like the 47's.)

Alvin,
If one wants to use the terms that GM used, the Advance-Design trucks were the 1947 model trucks, and the 1946 trucks sold in 1947 were 1946 model trucks (with 1947 registrations).
So, you are correct in your description in terms of calendar/registration years (and body styles) but Jock is correct in terms of the GM model year.

There were several 1947 trucks that are exactly like the 1941-146 trucks, so a lot of people refer to them as the 1947 first series trucks.
