That means I'm half done, right? Anyway, the tie rod, a tubular type with screw-in ends, has a slight bend. I can see about 1/2 of the opening at the far end when I look through. The bend is gentle, no kinks. Is replacement a priority, or can it be used still? I'm not sure where I would get a new one, although I got the ends off the rack at NAPA.

Many people get nervous when it comes to steering items...If it were mine, I wouldn't hesitate to straighten it. The tie rod is very tough and can take a ticken and keep on , whatever! Do it cold..use a vise, a barn door or whatever. Don't kink it or make a pretzel out of it and you will be fine. Don't forget to set the toe-in again.
