Could be either but I would suspect it has three piece rims.

The split in center came out latter then that. You have the lock ring type.

After 60 years, it could have about anything. You gotta look at each wheel,

Have you looked at our wheel tech tip?
http://www.stovebolt.com/techtips/wheels/

Do you have a picture of one of your wheels?

I have the same problem here in mass. My 65
C50 wrecker came with split rims and nobody will touch them. They are actually illegal to run in this state. You can not get an inspection sticker if they are on your truck. I am still looking for some good used split rims to use. Good luck in your quest. Griggs tech article is great I have hub piloted rims. I would love to buy new but I cant afford them.

FWIW, the Firestone RH-5° true "widow maker" split rims first appear in the wheel catalogs in about 1944 or 45 as I recall. And I'll ditto what the others have said. Wheels get damaged and replaced throughout their working lives. A truck can have any mix of styles mounted. Grigg's tech piece has cross section diagrams that will show you the differences.

Sure, glad to help,
If you use those wheels you'll need to make the bushings to adapt the 4.75" hub to the 5.25" center hole in the wheel.
Also double check that they will fit over your rear drums in particular, and the fronts too.

No, the red wheels on my truck are 22.5" wheels, not the smaller 19.5" ones like you have found.

The 19.5's wouldn't fit over the rear drums on my 48 4400 but others have had success. Just thought I would throw out a warning before you got too invested with them. Try them on first,
Scott

For that kind of money, you could buy the tools and do it your self,

I wrap log chains around the tire/wheel during inflation to catch the ring if it should blow,

I have split rims on my 49 4400 and they have an one inch ring on the outside of the rim. How dangerous are those?

My 49 4400 has lock rings. After about 2 hours of staring at them, I finally figured out how to break them down and replace the tires without being injured too seriously.
