I am getting ready to swap the 235 out of my 46 1 1/2 ton for a 348 and am not sure what to do about the throttle/accelerator pedal and linkage. Can someone who has done a v8 swap in this style truck tell me how and what available parts (if any) are available or donor parts that are suitable in regards to gas pedal and throttle linkage? I need to get this thing rolling
Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks smile

What I did was take the throttle cable and pedal assembly out of any mid 70's chevy truck. After the engine was in, I mounted the cable and carb bracket to the engine and looped the cable in a nice loose loop back to the firewall. I then drilled the hole and used a file to make it square so the cable would stay clipped into the firewall. I attached the pedal assembly to the floor after a little bending and modifing, it was perfect.
Good luck,
Scott

jetexas,
When you say 348, do you mean Chevrolet
V8 348, as in 409 V8? Scalloped heads and valve covers!

jetexas, I went to a near by rod shop and got the pedal and throttle cable. I don't remember what the cost was but it wasn't much and looks nice in the 37. All I had to do was drill one hole in the firewall. Its sort of a "universal" kit.
