4108 frame dimensions 7" X 2 3/4" X 7/32" section modulus 5.52
4408 frame dimensions 8 7/8" X 2 7/8" X 1/4" section modulus

If you are only interested in frame height, with the same tires and the same springs, you'd have about the same frame height (about 34" - from the information for the 4102 and 4402 models in the 1954 Truck Data Book).

The frame for a 4400 is the same as a two ton 6400.
The short wheelbase 4100 frame is physically smaller than the longer wheelbase 4400. Just as 3B describes.

I made a mistake years ago when i stretched my 4100 frame 4 feet to accomodate a 12-foot stake bed.
