Hey, I've been working on my truck for about a year now. It's already in the galleries:

http://www.stovebolt.com/gallery/kirby_clay_1962.html

A little about me: I'm a born and raised New Orleanian. I'm a mechanical engineer who needs to get dirty once and a while (hence the truck). I was looking for something as old as possible, but still modern enough to find parts and work on.

I got it from a guy who had it for about 10 years, using it occasionally as a work truck, but mostly rusting in the rain. His wife told him to fix it or sell it, so I got it for under a grand with a running SBC 350 coupled to a TH-350 transmission. It runs rough (the carb is a complete mess, no choke at all), but it does run.

I do regular updates that you can keep up with the work at the link below:

Jake Groby has been a lot of help so far. Recently, I've mostly been consumed with body work. Intending to redo the electrical system soon.

Tons of photos at these 2 links:

Take care,
Clay

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
