on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 217 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 217 | I've seen cordless impact wrenches 3/8 as well as 1/2 on various auto rebuild shows and these are perfect for me. Anybody have any reviews on them and where to buy?

Also, they won't hold up to just sitting around unused either. I would say if you're able to used it a couple times a day, it should last quite a while. They probably won't have the gumption of an air job though....
For me and what I use the impact for, I probably will stick with my air ones....

It's been real handy for stuff that's been apart lately. However, if it hasn't been apart in 50 years, I use air. | | | | | Joined: Jan 1970 Posts: 365 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 1970 Posts: 365 | John Deere sells a good little impact, made by Hitachi. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 4,252 "Hey! Works better than running out the hose on my mobile compressor. No issues yet! Have had it over a year now. But when I'm in the main shop, it's air tools that I grab first. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 158 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2008 Posts: 158 | I use a Dewalt 3/8 impact works well at home, work, and in the junkyard. I'm saving up some money to buy the 1/2 inch version. I am very pleased with it but dont buy a Makita they are weak. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 | I own and frequently use my DeWalt 18v 1/2" impact tool. It is very convenient, works well, especially with a good, freshly charged battery and very handy. I keep it and a good-quality set of 1/2" impact sockets, both deep and standard, in my work truck at all times.
My dad liked mine so much, he bought one also. That is saying a lot for a guy who would rather buy HF/Cummins (you get the picture) and use them until they crap out and buy another one.
I have seen them on eBay for very competitive prices...both new and used, complete with battery, charger and case. This tool is one of many 18v DeWalt tools I own and use every day and have for the past several years.
I am not a hater of other top-name brands, because I own many other tools manufactured by Bosch, Delta, Mikita, Ryobi, Milwaukee, to name a few, and I have been satisfied with the quality and performance of my DeWalt 1/2" impact driver for the average job, as well as, the stubborn projects.
