The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Interiors 1946 chevy pickup

I know there are seats from minivans and such that can be used in place of the original seat in a 1946 chevy pickup.Has anyone retrofitted a seat to work? Does anyone have any advice?

Just looking way back on some of the threads here and I clicked onto yours. On my 1940 I used a bench seat out of a mid 80's Ford Ranger. It fit perfectly. I made mounts out of 1 1/2" square tubing and bolted it to the apron that goes around the gas tank. The truck did have the original recovered seat in it, but it was so uncomfortable,I had to change it. I have pictures of it on page 2 of my webshots album.

i used a set bucket seats out of a 1989 mercedes i find in a junk yard and cut the head rests off of them and took off the motors on the bottom . i also had the redone in yellow and black for my 1946 chevy pick-up .thanks

my old jeep truck had one outta a old ford van, just some drilling and making new mounts s'all
