Did you replace your coil with the Flamethrower coil, too?
TIA

Search in this forum and in all forums. | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 493 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 493 | I haven't put one in the truck yet but have been running one in my 60' MGA for about 5 years now. I even bought an extra and extra coil as a back up. I haven't had any need for the spares. The hotter coil allowed me to increase the plug gap some and it made it run like a top. I have been very happy with the choice and will put one in the 235 when I get that far down the line. | | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 | I replaced the points in my 1960 235 with the Ignitor 1 about 3000 miles ago and have had no problems. I'm running a stock coil and plugs with the stock gap. Plugs look like they did the day they were installed.
Like the others, I carry a set of points and the other components removed from the distributor when I installed the Ignitor. Would highly recommend the Ignitor 1.

It works wonderfully, keep in mind that there is a 6 volt and a 12 volt pertronix ignitor system available. 1951 3100 Chevrolet1951 Chevrolet Suburban CarryallImage"A house is built with boards and beams. Awesome results.. Also I switched out the generator to an alternator at the same time.. No complaints and less maintenance.. Now all I do is go into the valves now and again and set those and change the oil.. I use a 45 thousands plug gap and it runs like a top.. Easy peezy japaneezy.. Definitely a good move..
