Putting my 53 together for the final time.
Checked everything for damage before paint and fitted all the large parts.
Never checked the tailgate....now it is painted and the darn thing is stamped upside down.
Hope the truck shop in Orange will make right and meet me half way with the cost.

I would ask for my money back and keep it like that.
Dare to be different,

Keep us informed on how they handle this! If they hesitate include this link and let them know how many subscribers are here wondering where they might buy a tailgate!

Wow, that's a tough deal. It was probably right-side up where it was assembled. Rest of the truck is gorgeous!

That's insane... so much for 'quality control'... I guess the guy in charge of that was drinking that day! wink

That said, I think it's kinda cool like that... some guys would pay a fortune for a "real" tailgate stamped like that for their rat rods but what matters is that YOU like it... if you don't I'd be bringing it back to them with a "come ON guys... do you see anything wrong with the tailgate you sold me?" grin

I can't see them not making it right... somebody clearly dropped the ball! wink

they will exchange but cant do anything about the price I have in paint. They also want this one back before they will ship the other. I can understand why but I am looking 3-4 weeks before I see the other then paint.
My plans are to be done and on the road by labor day. So I am going to order from another company and send it over night.
If anyone wants a new one I will have one for sale in the next few weeks at a very good price
