The one I have appears to be 3/8" too wide at the top and the polishing work prior to chroming is not that great. How well will the chrome hold up? Any pointers on getting a good fit? Any others out there that are better quality? If you can shed some light on this I sure will appreciate it Ray | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 4,886 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 4,886 | I bought one from a swapmeet vender for $100. Brand new, it was total junk. It wouldn't even come close to fitting the opening. I even cut the spot welds apart trying to make it fit. I ended up letting a fellow bolter have it so he could cut a few of the ribs out to replace bent up stock ones. Mine is home made so you are still on your own! I would let the vendor know for sure that there are quality problems with what they're selling. Personally I would look for a used grill and have it rechromed. It'll cost a lot of money but you'll get one that fits.

Today, 8 years later it still looks good. | | |
