It was used on a local farm until the owner passed away in 1989, his wife kept it in the barn. Now it's going to haul pallets of sheetmetal for my stainless business in Portland, Oregon. I have to get it running and fix the brakes first. I believe it has a 261, a Muncie 4 speed, and a 2 speed rear end. Maybe I could just go get keys made to fit the one I have. Take the lock down to your local locksmith and have keys made for the truck, I believe that the glove box is a different key. The ignition and door locks are the same. I keyed all of my locks the same. You can take the set of locks down and have a new code setup too. I love barn finds! The 6400 Chev. trucks are quite easy to work on and parts are readily available from NAPA and CARQUEST auto stores. Its a good size to license and use. I've enjoyed mine a lot! Your's looks pretty solid from the photos. The only problem I've seen with them is that so many are rust buckets, common with many Chevys thru the 50's and 60's. Keep it sheltered as much as possible, also keep the front wheel wells washed out all around. Good luck with your truck!!
