My grandpa wants our '55 chevy that I have to be restored completely stock, he was releaved when I decided not to put a V8 in it. I dont see anything wrong with the 216, though I dont know anything about these old motors.

I'm doing a tech Tip series on repairing and adjusting the 6V charging system. Big battery cables and clean, tight connections will keep the original electrical system working OK, so if you're willing to do a little preventive maintenance, keep it stock. Jerry
