Well after messin an messin with the old 650 holley, I decided it was never gonna suit me.
Sunday I ordered a Edelbrock model 1406 square bore from Summitt, mounted it and it fired an ran perfect outta the box!
Will do some more checkin, but so far idle is smooth, throtle responce is right there and NO runnin rich!
Im pretty happy with the new carb!

Tim, I ran the 1405 manual choke on my 37 for years. It did real good. I let it sit to long once while working out of town over an extended period and the gas jelled in it and had to be "cleaned".
I like them so well I have a brand spanking new one that I have not even opened the box yet for my panel. It'll probably be another year before I get it running but while I can get my discount at Advance Auto I figured why not!!
Several guys I know run the one you have (with automatic choke) and for street use they all swear by them!
Glad your "running smooth" now. That truck is smooooooth to!!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
