Rich, Welcome to the "Bolt" you didn't say what year your truck is so I would only be guessing on tire size. Timing I would guess at 4-6 degrees BTDC should get you started. Google "Service Manual" for your year truck and you should get several thousand options for buying one! Good luck with your project.

FYI, You might want to go introduce yourself in the welcome center, but since you are here, welcome! What part of Texas are you in? What year is your truck? Do you have any pics of it?

Nice truck! I'm fairly positive that those are not the original stock wheels... Someone that actually knows will chime in soon I'm sure.
As for you, Welcome back, glad you made it home safe, and thanks for serving! You, and all of our soldiers, have been in my thoughts and prayers and those of all of my family and friends. I have many over seas currently and have lost a few as well.
I bounce around Texas a lot (Hot-Shot trucker) but am mainly in San Antonio and way down in McAllen.

Hi there Rich! Looks like you have a great truck!

I'm pretty sure, too, that those aren't the stock rims. A '63 Chevy that I got the rearend out of had almost the exact same rims, and they weren't stock...

I keep 235/75 r15 tires on my '61. Of course my truck has 15 inch wheels, and the rims are in no way stock, haha!

Welcome, and thanks. I have a set of those wheels on my 64' and they came from an early 70' Datsun P/U.(just because the price was right,FREE) Good looking truck you've got. I set my timing at 6 degrees without the vacuum, around 700rpm. Just recently installed the Pertronix unit in it, and it's starting and running better now than ever before.

Definetly not stock wheels. Those were readily availale from just about all of the wheel makers in one form or another over the years, ARE called the the Wagon Wheel, i've seen other names for it too. Nowadays, seems that the only new use for them is for trailers, as thye're not a popular seller for vehicle use.
The stock tire size will be 6.70-15, approximatly a 215/75.15 in a modern tire.

Rich, Here is the unit number I used for my 230. It's an 1162A Ignitor. You need to make sure your coil is a points style coil with a minimum of 1.5 ohms of resitance, and if you have a ballast resistor in your system, to not remove it. It's a really straightforward install, and when you're done, take your original points plate, put it in the box and put it in the glovebox in case something should go wrong with the new unit. Then all you have to do is reinstall the original setup and your not left on the side of the road. Since I've installed mine, the truck starts better, runs better, and I've noticed the plugs burning cleaner. Here's the number..1-909-599-5955
