Actually they are the same. When I ordered a rear bumper for my panel the Vendor said it is the same as the front so I ordered two front bumpers and both fit perfect.

Looks like we are going to go over this one again. The front and rear bumpers on 1/2 ton Advance-Design panel body trucks are the same bumper.

Mine are very different because it has either an incorrect or an optional heavy duty bumper from a big bolt on the rear.

1953 panel,

Does you panel have the rear splash apron (or valance, or stone shield/guard, whatever it is called) that goes between the body and the bumper? If so, is in an evenly-spaced fit all along the bumper?

The 1947-55 panel-body 1-ton bumpers are different from the 1/2 bumpers, is there a chance you have one 1/2 ton bumper and one 1-ton bumper on your panel?

No Tim, it does not. Nor does it have the correct bumper brackets. (homemade by PO) I understand the correct rear brackets are not the same as the front brackets or pick up brackets. I have thrown out the rear bumper because a PO torched a hole in it for a wiring harness and welded a trailer hitch to it. He also welded homemade bumper brackets to it. Because I threw it away, I cannot post pix, but on the front cover of my owners manual for 1953 Chevrolet trucks is a bumper identical to mine. It is on a big bolt.

yea!, yea!, yea! grin

with 3 different panels and two having different rear bumpers and the third none at all I was convinced that the front and rear wre the same. I looked at a sub recently that had what i now know is the correct bumpers and it struck me odd at first. The rear bumper brackets are most definitly not the same

thanks as always dance thumbs_up

tom
