Is the original vin # located anywhere on the truck beside the plate on the door? This plate was removed sometime. Is there a vin # on the frame of the truck?

As to your actual question, the manufacturer's ID number only appeared on the door plate. For the entire AD series (47.2 - 55.1) there was no ID number on the frame.

As you found out most states used the engine number as what is now called the VIN through '55. FYI this isn't the forum for your question. This forum is for computer technical questions. This thread will probably get moved when a moderator finds it.
