I was wondering if anyone has ever tried putting the windows in an oven and heating them up to see if the moisture could be driven out and to see if the glass laminate would reseal. How about heating them in a vacuum. Anyone ever tried such a thing?

I would bet with that old Glass that if you heated it in an oven it would completely delaminate ...the Glass is OLD ....and the plastic between the layers has seen its length of service.
You would be further ahead since your glass is intact and you have it out or gonna take it out it would be best to take em to your local Glass shop and have replacements cut using your glass as a template, being flat glass the cost should outweigh the hassle ??

All of the glass is in bad shape and the cost to buy all the glass form the normal vendors is quite high for my budget. This could be a viable alternitive, thanks!

The other side of the windshield was not in great shape and the one piece of original glass I had was delaminating. I got them to do both sides and it was a good decision. Cost a lot less than replacement glass and using the old glass as templates it was a great finish. Danv | | |
