was it difficult ?
did you use an aftermarket kit to make this happen or go to a tranny shop ?

This is what "kicks it down". To get it to "come out of lock up" when you put your brakes on can be done a couple different ways. I wired a switch into my brake light so that when I put on brakes it would energize the switch and it in turn would kick off the overdrive.
Some do that and even add "security" by hooking up a vacumm line to pull it off...and some just use the vacumn by itself. Hang around here and some more guys will chip in....then make a decision on the way you want to do it. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 677 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2006 Posts: 677 | Mine is controlled by the ECM that controls the fuel injection on my 51 But there are a lot of vendors that make a kit that you can install that looks pretty easy to do... Try TCI 200R4 / 700R4 Torque Converter Lock-Up Kit OR there's one from Speedway Motors then there's Bowtie overdrives and like BIG CHEVY 3600 said Phoenix is another awesome builder take makes a kit too... But either way you go you'll still need to hook up a TV cable like Achipmunk already replied... but it's no big deal if it's adjusted right Bowtie overdrives have some real good tech tips on doing that Todd

Hook the vacuum to ported vacuum on the carb. Wire it all together from a acess. outlet on the fuse panel. Some trans. dont have a taped hole for the pressure outlet. I,m not shure how to do it then but there is a way from inside the trans.
