I am trying to find some simple chrome air cleaner for my 4 bbl Rochester that sits atop my 283. The diameter is 4 1/2" according to the gasket, but the local performance shops only have other sizes I assume for Edelbrock. This is an original 4GC. I don't care about the original style at over $200 a pop. Maybe I am not looking at this correctly. Please help if possible

Q-jets, Edelbrock, Carter AFB, & Holley all use the same one. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. They are just a plastic piece that costs around $5-10. I got one from Advanced Auto. I believe it was made by Mr. Gasket. | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 84 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 84 | Hey gang. THanks. I got an adaptor piece. Just about all of the air cleaners you see in the auto parts stores are for a 5 1/8" throat. sovagary

Exceptions would be Holleys and some of the early 1960 Chrysler and Lincoln AFB's. The Rochester 4-GC, Carter WCFB, and most early Carter AFB's used the smaller aircleaner.
