For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 34 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 34 | So not realizing that my hinges were in fact great shape, I took the approach of cutting the hinge pin between the bracket and hinge...worked great to get the pin out but distroys the pin. Now for the irony, you can't buy replacement pins OF THE SAME SIZE. You can buy oversized but it pains me to redrill and take the chance of screwing up the alignment. Anyone have or know where I can get an original pin for a 54 1st series 3100??
thanks in advance- cam

I suspect it would not be hard. If you work where there is a machine shop perhaps you know someone, or know someone who knows someone else, and get them to cut you a couple on their lunch break. Most companies don't mind that as long as it don't get to be a habit.

They may work properly once you cut them to lenght & if they are too big around at least you have something to start w/to machine down. If you want one to see shoot me a PM w/your address & I'll send you one....Joe | | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 34 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 34 | ZK- thanks, I do already have the oversized so yea, I've got something to work with, i will check out the S10 in the hopes they are the same circumfrence. cam
