My doors are a mess! I have been buying what parts I can where I can find them. I even considered shaving and adding poppers. NAW, that wouldnt be right. I would like to know if there is a detailed paper out there describing how to rebuild these. It has the kewl upswing handles and vent windows. So I dont want to change out to a 50 , etc.. I realize my truck is a "little different", but Im trying hard to keep as many lines original as I can. Thanks.

I have completely stripped/gutted the doors on mine, but that isn't saying too much considering the condition the truck was in to begin with.

Anyway, I almost have the second door blocked out enough to put a final coat of primer on before setting aside for storage.

What specifically do you need? I hope to put together a step by step when the time comes, but may be able to help out with some pictures etc until then. grin

Gosh, just a hand sketch or digi pics of the window track setup and the door latching would be sooooooooo helpful! Thanx!

Just tear one side apart at a time and use the other one as a reference. Tear one down and lube up everything that moves or is supposed to move and replace anything that is made of rubber. Make sure you have a tap and die set and some new screws to replace them darn clutch heads,

Oh Scott, just say the clutch head is my friend. We have stripped out six and a half pair of doors so far in getting a perfect pair for the 47. Thats a lot of clutching man. its amazing how many parts are in just one door, and how a fairly "good" door looks like crap after you strip it.

Jim, I have several factory manuals and books showing differnt exploded views. I'll look and see if any of them have your style door in them. I'll post something this weekend if I find it.

I wouldn't mind seeing a copy of that pdf file if you don't mind sending it to me.

Would you like for me to try to get some pictures of my doors and parts?
