Bought a new bed for my 1940 with no holes drilled.Anybody got dimension and location of holes

Willis, Try checking out the Mar-K web site. I think they may have a PDF file on drilling holes in the correct locations.

I had my boards in the box and all put together, lined up the box on the frame and drilled the holes from the bottom. I put the bolts in and tightened them up.

I did the same as " Builder ". Set the boards in the correct position on the cross rails, then set your box sides. Mark the holes, disassemble, drill, finish & waterproof the boards including the holes, and reassemble. On my '40, the front panel on the box has a flange that the boards sit on. You can mark the hole locations from underneath. The rear cross sill also has holes but these ones fasten thru the bed strips.

I just replaced the bed in my 57. (I know, I have to post the pix)
Anyway, I placed the boards in the bed with some bolts and steel strips and aligned everything (time consuming) then marked the bed to frame location from underneath with a sharpie (only two boards) - pulled and drilled the locations - replaced them, bolted everything up - done.

Willis40, I'm guessing your boards are all pre routed? If so, this should work fine for you. Just double-check the measurements for the bed to frame locations on every hole (should be eight - was for me). Then drill them out and use these as your guide for the remaining boards.

Thanks for the information on the bed wood location`s.Now can someone help with the front panel and rear cross sill.I need distance between hole`s and bolt size.
