Does this tell you anything about how they kept the prices down and made sure everybody could have a great truck? My grandparents bought a new C10, 1/2 ton in 64' from a dealer in Norman, OK for the exhorbitant sum of $2005. 27 years and they only increased the price $1413. The nerve of some people. A gallon of milk has gone up nearly a buck in just the past 3 weeks around here. Go figure.

I'm going out that way for a parade this weekend. I have some '37 advertisements blown up to put in the bed and now with the original price on the windshield, it should be pretty cool. They wanted to stick to a theme, 50 years of parades, and I remember seeing dealers in new cars going down the parade route. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,554 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,554 | In 1966 I got the new truck itch, but never bought one.However I could have bought a new Chevy fleetside with 6 cyl.and 3 sp. gear box for about $1600.Toward the end of the year,after the 67s were on the dealers lot.I could have bought a 66 Ford same equip. for $1500.I ended up buying a 65 Ford from a friend for $1400. that had a custom cab,radio,rear step bumper,352 cu. in.V/8 and 3 sp. gear box, in like new condition.The year old Ford was a much nicer truck than the new 66 Chevys,and Fords. | | |
