My '51 has 15-inch wheels. One of them appears to be the "correct" style because it has the sprint clips that hold the hub caps on. The other three don't have clips or holes where clips may have been, and the bosses on the rim where the clip would mount are about 1/4 inch too recessed to just drill and install clips.

So, I want to get at least three "correct" wheels for my project and want to know the years that Chevy 1/2 tons were equipped with 15-inch wheels with spring clips.

Looks to me like the guy said he wanted to find some parts and Tom is helping him do that. No harm, no foul in my book.

Give it a rest. No harm done. I even noted his address.

"If you want to let Stovebolters know about things you have for sale or things that you are looking for, please use the appropriate forum in the Swap Meet (Trucks wanted / sale, Parts wanted / sale, Miscellaneous Stovebolt Stuff, Non-GM stuff, Freebies!

Stay cool, guys. A fellow from AZ was banned from this site for doing the exact type of advertising/selling that was done above.

Czechman did nothing wrong in asking the question. And, posting information about what part is correct is helpful.

However, his email address is in his profile. He could have easily and directly been contacted by people wanting to sell parts. On the other hand, maybe trying to make a sale outside the Swap Meet is now OK?

Thank you, Tim. The offer to sell has been removed. The proper way to offer someone parts they need is to send them an email or a private message through this board. Just click on the person's name and you'll be taken to his profile.
