I have a set of 15" split rim 8 lugs on a '64 3/4 ton GMC and beginning to think they came from something from the late '40s or '50s. I had to send them to a wheel shop to mount 15"x8" rims on the original centers. I have never seen 15" split rims, but that doesn't mean that they don't exist as a stock GM part.
I'll have a look in my parts book to see if they are listed. This is the Canadian Chev book, so there may be differences.

Here's a picture of the truck and the guy I bought it from. \'55.2 GMC 3/4 ton w/15" split rims The duals in the back were apparently made by turning down 18" 1-ton centers until they fit the 15" outer rims. They were also 15" split rims.

They were called semi-drop center. After removeing the ring you still had to push the tire into the center of the wheel to pry it over the edge.

In fact it has what looks like 50's era hubcaps on the back. I have looked and looked for info on what my truck had as original wheels and I can't find anything.
