It has a 350 in it and I want to use the original (or original look) gauges for oil pressure, temp, fuel and ammeter. Surely somebody makes a conversion kit or new gauges that fit in place of the original that will hook up to the 350. Anybody have any ideas???? thanks slowgoer

Just put the fitting in the outlet behind the dist. & put the tube in it. Like Elm says the specialty suppliers have temp gauges with longer tube & a special fitting.

Oil guage no problem, 350 will keep it pegged out. Can't remember if a 51 is a 15# but if so get a 53 30#. Amps are amps 6 or 12v so no problem there. Put a Runtz resistor on the "IGN" side of the gas guage, this is a must cause 12v will fry it. The long capillary tube temp guages are a little pricey but you can grind a flat spot on the left rear water runner on your intake, drill, tap, and screw in a temp bulb fitting. The temperature gauge will work too if you get an adaptor fitting for the bulb. It is a 3/8" gas flare fitting to a 1/2" NPT pipe fitting.
The ammeter will work just fine with an alternator too.
