Has any body did this and were did you find the bushing. I have looked in different catalogs and seen none listed. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,953 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,953 | Don't quite know them as seat bushings. Sounds like you are describing shackle bushings. There are 4 on the rear and 4 on the front. If that is what you are looking for check under shackle bolts/bushings. The aftermarket sets are plentiful. I got mine at NAPA for my 49. If there are such things as seat bushings then the above does not apply. But I've never heard of them as such. Then again I don't get out much. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 | Im thinking you mean the bushings that are used where the leafs attach to the axle and are the pivot point for the rear ends up and down movement? If so Im looking for them as well. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 100 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 100 | Yes rustednuts thats them. I did find a place called Steel Rubber. I used one eighth inch thick rubber, thicker would be better but that's what I had on hand. Cut some donuts and press them on to the bushing,I started with a couple and inserted them into the hanger, then just keep stacking them up.I used Parker O ring lubricant to help slide the whole thing together. Make sure the donuts protrude beyond the ends of the bushings so when you assemble them the large washers at each end will squash the whole thing together.Good luck PK. | | |
