My flippin computer has been on the fritz for the last couple of days so what a pleasent suprise to get back on line and find my truck on the cover of the Stovebolt Page. As always I owe John and Peggy a huge thank you for that honor. I have said many times since I purchased my truck and my first computer back in the fall of 2000 that I could not have restored my truck without this awesome site and all the knowlegeable people here. Once I got my truck on the road I attended a truck show in southern Md thanks to the invite by John. This show was where I signed up to become a member of the ATHS Baltimore Washington Chapter. I have since met a lot really nice people and have attended some great events including the National Convention in Baltimore last spring. The bonus of it all has been getting to know and becoming friends with John and Peggy. They are truley very special people.
As most of us will say, my truck is still not finished and I continue to learn from this site. I look forward to future truck shows and meeting more fellow stovebolters.
Thanks again to John and Peg and all the folks that make the Stovebolt Page possible.

An honor well deserved for such a nice, professional, tasteful restoration.

I'll say it again that is one nice truck. There are a few trucks that really stand out on this site(where you just say WOW!) and yours is one of them.

Man you guys, awfully nice comments. The truck was my first restoration so there is a lot of stuff I would love to do over again. Hopefully in the future I will have that opportunity. It is by far a professional job but this way the kids can climb in the back and I don't have a heart attack or if I put a little scratch in it its not the end of the world. I have only put about 3 hundred miles on it in the last couple of years. There are a number of contributing factors to that besides the fact that it only gets to about 43 miles an hour. I'm still learning how to drive the thing. The sound of grinding gears is fairly noraml when I am behind the wheel, although I think I have all the bugs worked out of the clutch and I am getting better(no comment John).
Thanks again, Tomcoe, Achipmunk, Bluedot and dad6timz.

It looks great! I like the color of the cab as it makes it look like a toy. That was meant as a compliment. I love that thing because it looks so different than most trucks.

Bill that photo of your truck is just absolutely perfect. Not only does your truck look great, but the kids, green grass, and country like background just compliments your truck even more. I had to save the image immediately after first viewing it.
Congratulations on the excellent restoration, and great job on the photography.

Man I am blown away by the compliments from all of you. Very humbled. I have been busy with my new shop project and have not spent much time here in the last day or so. I thought this thread had died off. All the posts are a very nice surprise.
John, the picture was taken in September at a little party my wife and I had at our house to celebrate our recent marriage. It was a beautiful day and the perfect time to snap a few pics with the kids.
Thanks again, 49 Chevy, Rich, Va Firetrk, Sean, Joker, John, Rusty, Zip and Frank.

Stovebolt fans, I have been lucky enough to see this beautiful restoration example in person. As y'all might have guessed the truck is of course nicer in person. A worthy example of a great truck on the cover of The Stovebolt Page.

Come on now Cosmo, "nicer in person", what was the name of the sreet you lived on in college? The pics do this truck a lot of justice, but I appreciate the kind words. Now, I have been fortunate to see a truck that is worthy of the cover even on its ingenuity and resilence alone. That is Cosmos daily driver with all its goodies listed in his signature. That is a cool truck.

I'm not convinced about Bill's truck anymore.... Hmm, let's see... we put Bill's truck on the "cover" of the Stovebolt Page... Stovebolt Mainframe melts down...

Does A plus B equal C? I'm thinking so...

:p
