My local guy has been great and I'll most likely have him do it, but I'm gonna check out another option first. I can't help but THINK there is a more modern heater core made that a guy could just slip into that heater plenum and make work. Measure the core size (distance between the the end tanks and across the width and thickness example= 11" x 6" x 2 1/2") Sometimes a later model heater has the same core size. If that is the case a person could change tanks for less money. There are not many companies that make that type of core any more.
