I pulled a bunch of large image gallery submissions that I had stashed away over the year and got our first edition for the 2007 Stovebolt Calendar. If you check the link, be sure to check the "view calendar pages link there -- for some reason, the cover page hasn't "refreshed" itself yet.

Whadya think of the cover shot (above)? I thought that was so cool view of Jonathan's Teal's '53. I thought then (looking through the stash) that I'd have enough to make a whole calendar of rear-end shots. That would have been fun. grin You guys would have to come up with a clever (but clean) rear-end title or phrase. I doubt it would be too difficult for you all.

CafePress automatically changed the calendar print to 2007 for all that were already in there. They also have switched from saddle-stitch to wire-o binding.

I hope since we got an early start this year, we can make up some of those we had hoped to do last year (Big Bolts, Panels and Burbs, People of the Bolt, Bolts Working, Daily Drivers, maybe an even "In Progress" grin theme.)

I have to re-work my calendar instruction page since CafePress now offers two more calendar options:

An "oversize wall calendar" which is 17 x 11 (that's a big image!).

A "vertical wall calendar" which will have 12 months. It's 17 x 11, too. The cover image is 17 x 11 and all the other images are 11 x 11. (The regular one is 11 x 8.5.)

So, these two new ones are BIG. And this will also give us a better opportunity to include more trucks in a few more calendars.

We'll still be able to do the one page calendars (like last year) ... just need to request them.

This and the It Ran stuff are my major projects for the day.

Very Nice Calender Peg. I'll have to get a "Big GMC" picture to ya, for next years Edition. You only had one in this years. What about this one, http://community.webshots.com/photo/115981506/1168354570052570246rNLtpD Spanky Hardy's 1952 GMC 450 series 3 ton COE

Spanky,

That would be great. I'd really like to start the Big Bolts one. The webshots won't let me copy the image, tho. Can you just email it to me.

We hope to have more calendars to choose from. I think last year, we ended up with four calendars (one being the IRWIPI submissions). So, we'll have the space for plenty.

Now just need the pix.

Got this much done so far.

Thanks,
Peg

Peg - to the right of the pics is a link 'show full size': http://image12.webshots.com/12/5/45/70/168354570rNLtpD_fs.jpg that'll set ya up

I don't like the new webshots setup, they're using Flash to display the pics pages, and nothing responds to the usual commands frown

Bill,

Thanks. Spanky had a really cool, older pix with it connected to a trailer, too. But the images are too small.

Got an INCREDIBLE one from Fred Stevens with a locomotive engine . He had a couple of cool ones on his Gallery page so I'll have to see which one he wants. This is the first real big (11 x 17) that I've got.

Lot of hunting and clearing out here.

They were just some that had come in with gallery submissions that were REALLY big. So, as I worked on the gallery page, I would stuff the original into a folder ... for just this day!

I've got another super cool one that just came in -- goes with the Working Bolts theme. Man, it is a totally cool shot. I may have to find a folder to stick these so you all can see them as they come in, too. This one is awesome.

This is such fun.

Okay, I've got the directions finished. I have a few that have come in already. I think over the next few days, I'll try to sort out where to start and I'll post it here. We can work on a few at a time. And if you all have something in particular you want ... round up your gang. A TEXAS BOLT calendar would be entertaining grin

Let me get some more work done here.

It looks good, but I have one complaint.

Do you suppose you could add more months to the year so we could see some more bolts?

I think we could fill up a daily Bolt calendar! Maybe they'll offer that some day (boy, that would be a big job getting all that together).

Well, ITMT, you'll just have to check in here on Monday's (Tuesday's). With 10 - 12 new trucks added, that should be enough of a Bolt-jolt to keep you truckin' through the week.

If you decide to do several different calendars how about considering one featuring the alternative bolters. Sweetie would LOVE to have her picture in a calendar. grin

Those are good ideas. We can do it. Just need to round up the (high rez) images.

How about an interactive calendar?

A person gets to pick out which ever pix from the Galleries onto the cover and for each month?

Or is that too much work for the printer?

What's the minimum resolution you can use?

Rusty,

The problem with the pix that are in the Gallery now, they are all at 72 rez. We need a minimum of 200 rez. The Gallery pix are mostly cropped to 5 x 5, too. So, the calendar pictures and big and excellent prints.

But if you want a special one, just contact the 13 people you want, see if they'll "sign on" with you ... and then we can make it up special. That's the nice part of CafePress. There's no inventory for us. More choices. I guess the calendars cost more (don't really know since we've never PURCHASED a calendar -- so many are FREE) but they ARE special ! And hopefully unique.

I'll need to get organized so I can keep track of the requests that come in. Got a few really neat ones already!! I may need to stash them someplace so you all can enjoy them NOW.

Later,
Peg
