i found a motor for my 51, it's in a 49 one ton truck, what i would like to know is what size it is and will it drop in he said it had a down draft carb on it, i've never seen one so i don't realy know what he is talking about he said my 216 manifold and carb would fit it, he also thought that the motor had beerings not babbit but wasent sure it is free if i want it, he said it run's great with no noise or smoke, i need all the info on that motor i can get,, thanks,, ron

Grab it. Either way, if it runs it's worth it. Then take a pic, post it and one of the know-it-alls on this board will tell you things about that engine the manufacturer didn't know.

You will have to get numbers & look them up to really know what it is. Practicaly all carbs. are downdraft. He might have ment updraft. Some of the stepvans had updraft carbs. The manifolds & carb off yours will fit unless its a 54 up engine.

It might be an old COE engine if it does have an updraft,
