I'm putting together my 63 K20 drivetrain in hopes of getting it completely done before starting the body work. Two years after she got torn apart and pushed off to the side to work on other projects or whatever, tonight I fired it up. That crisp sound of a 468 through 2 1/2 inch dual exhaust just gets your blood flowing. It wasn't a total success, the fuel pump dried out from sitting and now leaks a little, but that's just a minor set back. At least now I'm taking two steps forward with every step back. It's good to see progress once in a while.

48 big... did you crank it up at the traditional 2am (0200), so that your neighbors will really appreciate your hobby?

There isnt much of anything more motivating than hearing the engine crank up for the first time (or in a long time).

Another quality post.

Thanks for the reply Rusty,
Fortunately, I don't have any neighbors so I can go out there anytime of night and fire one off, in my skivies even (Don't even try to picture that). I might get a cow bellerin' back at me, but little do they know they will be on my dinner plate one day. I do like being out in the boonies,
Scott

Good job, soon you'll have time for a couple more wife projects, the n you can get down to the serious work on that COE.

Yeah, but it's an older one. I took it as I was putting it in. This is what it looked like then. Now my air cleaner is painted, brakes and trans line plumbed, radiator, etc. I got the fuel pump today so I'll be able to run it a little longer and get the trans and P/S topped off. Then after it cools off outside, I'm going to wash everything off to get rid of the shop dust that's on everything.
I'll take a more up-to-date picture soon,
Scott

I'm not sure, I bought the truck because it had this fresh engine in it. It can light up 38" Swampers (you know how soft they are) like they are spinning on grease. It was built as a pulling truck so I'm just guessing at around 400 h.p. We have Titans at work rated at 305 h.p. and it pulls alot harder than they do. I once pulled an old 2 ton AD boom truck up and out of a brush patch so I could rob it of it's wheels and other parts. Come to find out, the cable from the boom was still attached to some big chunk of iron and there was a 3-4" tree growing through the frame, not to mention all six of it's tires were sunk into the ground. She pulled it up and out of it's ruts, uprooted the tree and drug that iron plate about 20'. This truck is an animal, that's why I'm rebuilding it,LOL,
