I use a 12" flourescent drop- light. A string of bulbs in a plastic flexible tube. Used them a lot in airplanes especially when working in the tail cones. #1 that the florescent bulbs used in the trouble light are, in addition to being cooler, much more resistant to braking when dropped.
#2 the plastic trouble lights let more light out through the back side of the shield which shines into your eyes making it hard to see what you are working on | | |
