I've rebuilt a 350 for my 64 C10, using a lot of smallblock parts off a 283 I got in a 66 bought for parts. I'm using the 283's old ram horns, should I use the heat riser too? How important is the heat riser?

Make sure its working if you use it. If you're gonna use your truck in the winter, its nice, but not necessary. It theoretically improves mileage and keeps fuel from puddling, too. I'd probably use it if it worked.
