So after doing everything I could think of, I tore the carb apart one more time at about 9:30 last night, now I know I blew the main jet out once before but decided to give her a look see once again just cause, and voila! gunk and sh** plugging it up!

Blew it out, put her back together and fired the truck up. Drove really nice. New plugs today and she fired up in about 2 seconds flat and ran so beautifully!

Thanks everyone who has helped me out with this. Jeff

Oh yeah, I just got back from the gas station, sure beats the heck outta sitting in the garage making vroom noises! grin grin grin

right on, it is always nice to be able to drive your truck instead just sitting in it pretending to shift the gears grin glad to hear that it turned out well.

Great looking truck Jeff.
Great thing about those vintage plates..you never have to license them again. wink
Mine runs about half the time. However, when its not running, it looks darn good in the driveway.

Congrat's....its the greatest feeling in the world to get one going again. Makes all the blood loss and aches feel that much better. Last week I brought a 49 3800 back to life after several yrs sitting. The engine was stuck, so I put 4oz's of PB Blaster down the plug holes, waited a week and it came free. I had a little fuel issues after I got it started up and running, but those things are way easy to fix. Just need to do the brakes, adjust the clutch and its on the road again.

Congrats!

Will you be driving it to Central in the morning? If you tell me what time you'll be there I'll try to park my Suburban next to it long enough to enjoy a cup of coffee.
