I've rid myself of the ever-sucking void that shall be called my old 65 Chevy pickup and have changed direction again and got my dad's old 54 Chevy 3600 pickup. I'd like to get rid of the split rims on it and go with some skinny 16 inch standard rims. Anybody got any or know where to find them? Are they hard to find? Actually the truck has TWO standard (non-split, non mag, just plain rims) 15 inch 8-hole rims on the front that clear the tie-rods (AMAZINGLY!!!), but I'm wanting standard 16's, not mags or wagon wheels, just standards. Any help?

You're gonna wanna check that a tire mounted on a 16" wheel will clear the holes (at least on the front). AFAIK, the only vendors that make 16" 8 hole tires in the bolt pattern and hub size that you will need are going to be the custom outfits. Be prepared to drop some cash. Seems I remember a post by someone that used later model Dodge wheels and put the clips off the split wheels so they could use the original hubcaps.

I know that the 8 hole patterns are the same over many many years, I know that this truck came with 17's!!!, I think I have have found some 16's that'll fit (so far they seem to anyway) and I appreciate the assistance and the info in Colorado! I'm in burlington, so it's a long walk to Englewood but I get into 'the bowl' once in a while and may look the Truck Shop up (thanks!). randy | | |
