I just replaced one of my taillights on my '66 C-10 stepside. It works fine except that when the brakes are on and the turn signal is on, it won't blink from high to low, instead it blinks on and off. Also, when the headlights are on and I press the brake pedal, it cuts off, and when the headlights are on and the turn signal is on, it blinks on and off, not high to low like the old one did. What's going on with it and what can I do to fix it? Any help is much appreciated.

Sounds like a poor ground. I ran a ground wire right to the backside of the tail housing instead of relying on the body ground. Never had a problem since,

It is supposed to blink on to off. With a tail light on it might appear to be high to low but it would really be the tail light filament is lit when the turn filament is going on to off.
