Would that work? | | | | | | Anonymous Unregistered | | Anonymous Unregistered | That would work also. The rear fenders from the 47-55.1 Advance Design trucks are identical for 1/2 ton up through 1 ton to my understanding. | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: May 2001 Posts: 7,438 | Joker, how did you scrunch your fender? | | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 | not really scrunched,,, the fender had some bondo work before I bought the truck 8yrs ago, has cracked, I had it repaired again about 4 yrs ago and it has cracked again,, just thought that I might replace it rather then repair it,,still doesn't look to bad,, just thinking ahead about what I might do in the spring.........thanks for the response to all of you..........Fred Redryder pixMy HotrodA veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of "up to and including my life."I am fighting cancer and I am winning the fight | Pain is part of life; misery is an option. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,445 Moderator - The Electrical Bay | | Moderator - The Electrical Bay Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 3,445 | solid fenders are a dimadozen... get a couple of them...

A '51 3/4 ton set and a '52 1/2 ton set were identical.
an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.

I can't remember what the AD's have. It sounds like the fender might be flexing or vibrating too much and causing the mud to crack. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Oct 2002 Posts: 4,066 | Barry, I will check, thanks for the tip.. regards.Fred Redryder pixMy HotrodA veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard, or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The 'United States of America', for an amount of "up to and including my life."I am fighting cancer and I am winning the fight | Pain is part of life; misery is an option. | | | | | | Anonymous Unregistered | | Anonymous Unregistered | I hve two extra braces if they are needed. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 422 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 422 | Rusty Rod, please tell us all where we can get those fenders for a "time a dozen" we WANT THEM, like now!! | | | | | Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 422 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 422 | Barry Weeks, the 471st thru the 55nd has a brace from the rear fender to the frame, not to the box. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | If those fenders have no bead cracks, aren't rusted where they bolt to the running boards, haven't been run with mud or snow chains with a loose link that knobbied them all up from the inside, then I'll give you $1000 for your ten cent investment.

My box has braces from the top of the fender to the box is this a manufactured thing or a common aftermarket change and is it okay to put on a 1950 3100 Chevy. Also how hard are they to remove and if you do does this operation screw up your fenders??
Thanks for the help | | | | | | Anonymous Unregistered | | Anonymous Unregistered | There is a middle brace that is riveted to the middle fender lip and secured to the box via one of the fender bolts. I have seen several ADs that have this brace removed as the owners did not like the two rivet heads showing on the fender. | | |
