IRWIPI This truck for sale on ebay has got to be the best. I would be afraid to go pick it up. Some green tooth banjo player might try to pull a deliverance on you. Item #4586410411

I hope this link works.

The old truck looks like it sat through a few mud slides.

Five window cab in fair condition... Definitely '51 or earlier

Buyer responsible for picking it up... Who digs it out?

It looks like a Cuban refugee vehicle that ran aground in a flood!!! It is definitely sold-where-found. I'd give him $100 for it, then find an S-10 to stick the body on and build a sweet street truck. Don't feel much like digging it out of the dirt, though! It'd cost $400 in Diesel for the trip!!!

It kind of looks like the one that I submitted. By the way, I am about half a mile from the "Dueling Banjos" house. They filmed "Deliverance" in my county.

Them there Arkansas folks can't help it now. I think if they get divorced over there they remain cousins. There family tree is a utility pole! grin Just kiddin , just kiddin ,don't get riled up eek , Texans, Okies and Arkansas people always give each other heck.
That truck doesn't look too bad though , probably worth it if you add up the parts. I have bought some decent trucks over there.

Bluechev,

Ha! We use to say the same kind of thing when we lived in Alabama (late 70's) and then Kentucky (late 90's).

"It's *strange* here ... so DON'T MOVE HERE."

:p

IOW - stay away!

It's the media and movies! I know a few years ago I was talking to someone up North and they think we all live on ranches and have oil wells in our back yard or that we are from the south and naturally poor and stupid. Oh well keeps out the whiners eh? grin What part of Arkansas are you from?

truckrodder,
i live in perry county west of little rock. it is mountainous ( is that a word or am i pulling a "jethro" here! ) & rural here, we probably have some real "deliverance" types here! the truck in the ebay ad is localed in pocohontas which is just at the beginning of some rolling hill country & surrounded by totally flat treeless farm country!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Window garnish trim, headlight rings, gauge cluster, window cranks, door handles, headlight switch---

Come on fellows, look beyond the obvious and see the big picture. The parts mentioned above would bring a pretty fair price on Ebay and you'd still have some body parts left.

Engine upside down---probably worried about proper valve train oiling. Submerge it in oil--no problems.

Would that make the carburator an updraft unit? Air pushed under the truck and into it might give a ram charge affect and more power.

actually, i think the engine is right side up. it looks like they're using the oil pan to keep the rain out of the pistons because the cylinder head is gone...

poor thing. just makes ya want to take it home.

Looks like it has a lot of good parts left. And would definitely be a challenge to get it home. Although it would have to be very close to make it worth the cost or trouble.
