For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 36 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 36 | Just got off the phone with Chevy, got my restoration pack coming. I have to say, that was far and above my best phone experience EVER! I only had to bounce 3 times on the computer switchboard, then was connected with an extremely nice operator that processed my request in about 5 minutes. Even got thru on the 1st call (and yes, i DID ask them to reintroduce the AD series trucks ) Chevy phone # - 1-800-222-1020, have your VIN handy. be safe

We have to pay $25 plus tax and all we get are specs on American built trucks (photocopies at that) which don't really help up here. I did get at breakdown of where and when my truck was built and delivered which is nice, but hardly worth 25 bucks. They also claimed that only 5900 models of my particular truck were built! Can't figure that part out unless they are including color combinations and interiors. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 61 Member | | Member Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 61 | whats a restoration pack?? | | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 454 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 454 | It's basically a photocopy of the Chevy's technical documentation for your year truck along with a booklet of vendors of Chevy repro and restoration parts. Read all about it here over in the Tech Tips section. Don't forget that there is a lot more to the 'bolt than the forums. Spend some time with the links at the top of the page.

Exact copy of the specs issued 3-16-53 from the Engineering Department of GM's Chevy Central Office. Along with it came a document called "Past Model Information" that contains information on extended storage, etc. I have not read it yet; will give a further report!
Great service, and they got the model and year right, too. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 36 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 36 | Not a problem at all, I can scan those as soon as it gets here, and pass them on. Thanks for the link.
