The steering wheel might make it worth the current $102.00 bid

Maybe the grill guard did its job and protected the front grill. I can just imagine what my wife would say/do if I pulled that thing infront of our house.

You know theres an old saying amoung vintage guitar collectors, "Beware the cherry".

See, guitars get dropped, they get scratched, and their finish gets worn. A vintage guitar that looks like it's been thru heck and back usually means somebody loved playing it, and played it often.. it's a sign of a truly magical instrument.

The guitars that got kept under the bed in a case are usually the ones that didn't play or sound so good.

I feel the same way about trucks. Looking at that beat up ole truck that still runs and drives tells me that it's a truck that somebody (or numerous somebodys) could depend on.. a truck that was their first pick to get the job done.

A real truck. Hop in it and fire it up, it's ready to go.. maybe not to the fashion show or the local cruse in, but to work.. like all real trucks were built to do in the first place.

So yea it's ugly as home made sin, but it's got character.. the kind of character you can't get in a fiberglass kit or see in the pages of your favorite hot rod mag.. it's the kind of character one can only get from years of dependable service and hard work.

I salute you, ugly [censored], poop brown GMC truck!

I only pray that the buyer has the respect to let that truck live out the rest of it's life in dignity, and not chop the top, lower the frame, put spinner 18" rims on it and hang dingleballs from the winsheld.

If it was a house here in the San Francisco Bay area , it would be advertised as "having character".

Could not have said it better. Could not have laughed much harder after reading it either.

How does a tough old truck get beat up like that?
It's kind of cool that it's not a 1/2 ton. (I have a soft spot for the HD stuff)
That truck would be cool to rebuild mechanically but never touch the body, then drive it everywhere and park it next to new, expensive cars or to golf courses, pool clubs etc. just to freak people out.

Is that what the term "very restorable" was coined for?

Been rode hard and put up wet. But I'd rather have that truck than any shiny pretty boy truck any day of the week.

pretty boy trucks = cream puff

If you can't dump a load of gravel in the back (or are afraid to because it'll scratch the paint), it ain't a truck.

Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.. but if I wanted something to just sit around and look pretty, i'd buy a plant.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Its what's inside that counts.

Beauty is only skin deep.

Oh who am I kidding!

With a little sanding, some flat black primer, and red wheels, it'd be ready for duty as a push truck at the salt flats.

And if I had another neighbor I wanted to tick off, I'd buy it and put "UGLYTK2" plates on it.

But alas, it's a little far...and I'm still fighting for my retirement benefits. I'll have to make do with my original Ugly Truck for now.
