I don't know if the IFS can be removed as a unit or not.
However, check the track width. Those vans are wider than the pickups and even if you can drop it off easily it may be way too wide for your '63.
Hey someone said recently that a '63 GMC had the torsion bar suspenion instead of the coils like a Chevy. Can you confirm or deny that?

Change the brake shoes and keep what you got is one solution. It would be hard to use it for a swap. It is wider. The 60-62 were torsion bars. It was kind of a poor setup & is hard to get parts for now.
