I was just looking at all the options to reinsulate/redo the floor of my truck.

Would it be better to get the stuff from Classic Truck Parts, Inc. (old Chevy Duty) which would be the sound deading rubber mat, jute, and floor mat. Or use B-Quiet extreme and Quality Heat Shield or The Insulator by Cascade?

If both of these avenues would give the same end result. Or close to the same end result. It would be easier with Classic products since they are precut.

Finally, is the rubber mat the same at all vendors? American Classics and Classic Truck price theirs at $85-89. Where LMC prices theirs at $109. Does anyone know if they are the same product or is one a heavy duty and better product?

I bought the jute and rubber floor mat for my '49 from one of the repop sellers. Can't remember who but probably Chevy Duty. Fits very well and the holes were all in the right places. Also bought the rubber inside firewall mat with jute backing to finish it off. Also fit fairly well although it was a little short where the floor mat and the firewall mat met. Only problem with the firewall mat is you need to remove everything off the firewall inside to mount the mat. Could have been a 1" longer to allow some tuck-in. All in all, I'm happy with it.

Got one from American Classic..fit nice and good quality. Bought lots of stuff from them on my 37 and it has held up very well.

I have peal n seal under my rubber mats in my 59 and my 72. I also have jute like double foil insulation I am going to add under the rubber mat in my 72 and on the firewall to see if it will add extra quiet to the cab. I have the 1/8 polypropolene on the 59 and it was cut almost perfect and is very durable. I have a thinner one for the 72 but its also cut exactly right. Makes for good washing out of bottle, hamburger wrappers, dirt, mud, effluvia with the old garden hose!

I agree with arnswine, peal-n-seal firs, then
whatever you want next. Keeps heat out and help
with sound proofing the cab.

I did the peal and stick and the jute with aluminum foil under the rubber mat. Nice.

But I had to cut out the jute stuff in the middle at the hump so the gas peddle would work.

check w/ an auto parts store, .... aka (FLAPS)
they may have it cheaper and local, in bulk and u cut.
i used a two sided foil type w/ jute inside and an indoor/outdoor low nap carpet over top.

I used a foam carpet pad that was backed with a fibreglass type of material I bought from Maynards. contact cement it down in any size pieces. quiet, cheap, easy, and it has been there 2 years now.
