Anybody know what the original seat was like (color/material) in a '53 3100?

Great site. Learning allot by reading all of the old posts. My thanks to all of you tribal elders.

Do you remember what a school bus seat looks like? Mine looks like that in black/vinyl. I'm sure other colors were and are available. Are you missing the seat completely?

Hey Kevin, I see you are from Port Angeles. The vinyl seats on the Coho are similar to what was original in your truck - and about the same vintage.

(for those of you not from the Northwest, the Coho is the ferry that runs between Victoria and Port Angeles. The owners like to keep it in original condition)

Thanks, Scott. And hello Gord, my friend across the Strait. I'm just trying to get my '53 interior looking as close to factory orginal. Hey, since you're in Victoria Gord, I hear we Amercians can get a good deal on chrome work in BC. Any truth to that? Is the quality any better, or is it just the exchange rate?

Perhaps another Canadian member knows something about this. I haven't heard that chrome plating is less expensive here; I have my doubts as we rarely get better deals on anything.

Hey Kevin, I am in Port Orchard WA, and have a 1948 Chevy 5 window 1/2t. I restored it in 1983/84, and have driven it off and on as a daily driver for the last 20+ years. My seat was done original style in 1983, but shows stains, wear and tear now. But I could snap a pic of it for you. Mine was done in gray "leatherette" (Vinyl, naugahyde, several other names for it).
