The spindle that holds the needle looks fragile. Is there an easy way of doing this without messing up the mechanism? Would like to switch the faceplate from one unit to another, but the needle and hub are in the way. Any ideas?

It would be cool to start at zero again but you have to mess with the speed balance spring to get at the odometer.
