Hi everybody. I will be looking at a 1939-40 1-1/2 ton sitting in a pasture next spring when the snow melts. I don't know really how much of value is there, but I am willing to scavenge anything there that you might need. I haven't haggled price for anything yet since we don't know if there is anything worth using, but if I know what to look for, I can see what transpires. Attached are a few pics I have received.

There's a nice bumper and brackets, headlight and parking light trim rings, all the grill pieces, stainless window divider.

I was told the cab and all of it's components are the same as the 1/2 ton. Is that the case? Is that bumper and headlights the same? The grill? I would need a few teeth for my 1/2 ton grill and a bumper. I don't believe I would need much if anything from the cab and components, but will gather all that is needed if I can. It does have the motor and tranny in it. Would they be the same as used in the 1/2 ton?

Cab and related components are the same as the pickup.
Bumper, headlights and grille are listed in the 1929-46 Chevy Master Parts Book as the same as the pickups but do not fit COEs (the headlights and grille differ from the passenger cars too).
Engine and transmission basically the same as the pickups. The bigger truck came standard with the 4 speed "crashbox", which was an option on the pickups. The brake/clutch pedal bracket for the 4 speeds are different from the pickup 3 speed units and are hard to find. Definitely worth snagging as we have had folks looking for them in the past.
I would definitely consider checking the condition of the windshield and crank out unit. Both are regularly sought after if in good/rebuildable condition. The dash looks unmolested and perhaps worth the effort to save.
FYI - I'm leaving this thread in the GTT as it is not actually offering to buy/sell anything, just information gathering with the eventual prospect of helping out some fellow Bolters with needs. It's a long time before the spring thaw and DadsFirstPickup getting back to the truck to begin going down that path. In the meantime, anyone interested in specific items can make their needs known, as long as there's no actual sales discussion. If you decide to talk with DadsFirstPickup on potential deals, please take that activity to PM. Thanks!

Glad to see this and help you possibly help other Bolters!
Lets keep the discussion going.

I will be visiting the owner in the spring. Can’t sell anything at this point. It does appear there is enough interest to see if I can make a deal to drag the whole truck home. We will see what transpires.

Karl - Just a reminder on my FYI comment above. This thread will remain in the GTT as a discussion on what folks may want or need, without conversation on prices or any deals, until such time as DadsFirstPickup has an opportunity to go see the truck and confirm if it or parts of it can be saved in the spring.
Let's keep the conversation in here just to what folks may be in need of. If you have an interest in asking for prices or making deals, please reach out to DadsFirstPickup via PM.
Thanks

The bumper is NOT the same as 1/2 ton. 1939 and 1940 1/2 ton bumpers are not the same as each other, but I believe they are shared with passenger models of their respective years. The 1-1/2 ton bumper is the same from 1937 through 1940 and is the same as 1936 1-1/2 ton from bumper except for only 3 bolt holes in 1936.
